Dear Friends of ABC,

Seasons greetings from all of us at the Asian Business Collaborative! Since our start this past July, we have had tremendous growth in our mission to build up a culturally inclusive community for Asian business owners. Among our accomplishments these past few months:

  • We’ve grown our client list to 10 businesses. These businesses are receiving a range of support including financial advising, permitting and loan assistance, marketing consulting and more.
  • We’ve distributed 560 boxes of PPE (personal protective equipment) to businesses around Albuquerque with 90% being Asian-owned businesses.
  • We’ve engaged 15 volunteers totaling over 50 hours of volunteer work to help distribute PPE.
  • We’ve raised $14,000 in 6 months to support Asian business leaders across New Mexico.
  • We’ve grown our staff to include 3 part-time employees to handle operations, client support, and fund development.

These accomplishments couldn’t be possible without the generosity and support of the Albuquerque Community Foundation, the City of Albuquerque, and our dedicated community partners and volunteers. Thank you for your continued commitment to ABC! We are honored to be able to serve the community with such success in such a short amount of time.

While our growth has been substantial, so too remains the need for our services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Asian businesses owners have seen an increase in violence, racist remarks, vandalism, and a severe drop in business. On top of these incidents, business owners continue to overcome language barriers and cultural barriers to managing their businesses during this global health crisis. Racial inequality and discrimination continue to pervade the daily lives of these business owners and their employees. ABC remains steadfast in our commitment to empower, support, and sustain diverse business leaders so that all of New Mexico is made stronger.
